Autumn is considered the best season by locals for visiting Scandinavia – it delivers the first Auroras of the season.

Without snow on the ground, guests can enjoy this quieter, milder and more colourful season for hiking, rowing on rivers and lakes and in the evening, experience the splendor of the Northern Lights as they dance across the autumn, Arctic sky.

What’s new for Autumn

We are offering new and exciting experiences in Kiruna, Sweden for the discerning autumn traveler.

The Aurora dome is a new experience which allows guests to enjoy the early auroras of the in a cosy and comfortable environment. The glass dome protects guests from cold winds but does not interrupt the 180 degrees view of the night sky.

The dome also allows the experience to last longer, the tour lasts for approximately four and half hours, which means a greater chance of aurora spotting. During the tour guests will be warmed by a wood stove and a satisfying bowl of reindeer soup. This experience offers the best of both worlds with an option to get closer to the action during the milder autumn climate with access to a viewing platform above the dome.

The Aurora Dome is one of the few structures of this type in Lapland, and offers guests a versatile way to view the stunning natural spectacle that is the northern lights.

Autumn is a fantastic season for experiencing the wonder of the Swedish wilderness from the Torne river in a traditional handcrafted row boat. This new tour, open to International travelers for the first time this year, departs out of the village Kurravaara meaning ‘a canyon in the mountain’.

The tranquil mirrored river spreads into a vast lake surrounded by mountains, with oars in hand guests can row amongst the fresh earthy scent of coniferous trees and glimpse golden leaves of the mountain birch.

This tour takes in the starry night sky and aurora borealis with expert guides describing the constellations and natural phenomenon, as they go. All of this whilst relaxing amongst the wild and the water, whilst enjoying a locally produced warm berry drink and delicious snacks.
