On this once-in-a-lifetime trip you will have the chance to meet all of the animals but live up close and personal with the beautiful wolves. Staying in a purpose built luxury lodge within the wolf enclosure which overlooks the pack you will experience a night with these incredible creatures! The park lies 72km from the lovely harbour town of Narvik which is surrounded by natural beauty and dramatic Norwegian scenery. Narvik is one of the larger towns in Nordland and so offers a good selection of restaurants, shops and hotels. The park itself is surrounded by wilderness and lies in the heart of the Salangsdalen Valley in Bardu. Overlooking the stunning Norwegian scenery at every angle the park is in a beautiful location.
This package is available year round as the park is always open! Choose your time of year based on the other activities you would like to experience. Want to see the wolves under the magical Northern Lights – travel September to March. Prefer to see 24 hours of Sunlight and enjoy some long hikes – travel between May and August.
The Wolf Lodge
The purpose-build wolf lodge is a unique and beautiful installation within the wolves enclosure. Finished at the end of 2015 it sleeps up to 12 people in total in 6 simple but cosy rooms. The design is typically Scandinavian with clean lines and cosy fabrics. The communal area includes a large kitchen where meals are served, a cosy lounge with wood burning fire and an incredible glass wall to allow 24 hour views over the wolves! The rooms share 2 luxury bathroooms and a guide is present throughout the experience.
The newly built Scandic Narvik Hotel is one of the most modern hotels in the town and it is renowned for its incredible views of the surrounding nature. A 4 star hotel with spacious rooms including en-suite bathroooms, wifi, hairdryer and minibar. The hotel features a lovely restaurant and a sky bar on its 16th floor.
Quality Hotel Narvik
Located just a 2 minute walk from the train station this 4 star hotel is perfectly located in the town centre and close to all of the local attractions. This hotel offers modern rooms with good facilities as well as some great restaurants and a cosy pub with casual food. The sky bar at this hotel is not quite as high as that at the Scandic but it offers breath-taking views at every angle through its glass walls and full terrace!
Throughout the year the Narvik region offers a great range of activities to create a wonderful memorable experience. Depending on when you travel you can choose the ones you like the look of or ask your travel advisor for recommendations.
Wolf Lodge Stay and Kiss
The overnight stay in the lodge is the main event in this trip and is considered as more of an activity than a hotel! Start in the early evening with an introduction to the park and a meeting with your experienced guide. Check in to your rooms and spend the evening overlooking the wolves and learning about the nature, history and culture of the area whilst enjoying a delicious meal, relaxing with your guide and fellow travellers and hopefully enjoying the views of wolves, Northern lights or midnight sun! After a good nights sleep awake for breakfast with the wolves and then head into the enclosure with your guide to experience the unique wolf kiss! This is sure to be the highlight of your trip.
Polar Park Day Visit
As part of your stay at the lodge you will have some time to enjoy the park and visit the other animal. The enclosures are large to allow space for the animals so it takes some searching but you will have the opportunity to see bears, lynx, elk, reindeer not to mention the incredible Norwegian scenery.

Lights at the Lodge Experience
This activity is a truly unique and special experience and an absolute must for any trip that occurs in the Northern Lights season! Located on the outskirts of the city you will be transported up to the the mountain top lodge by cable car, which is perfectly situated for spectacular views over the city and fjord and to hunt for the Northern Lights! Enjoy Norwegian hospitality and indulge in this Aurora hunt with a fantastic guide on hand to give you a little more detail on the lights, as well as the culture and history of the region. You will also enjoy some traditional Norwegian food.
Northern Lights Traditional Tepee Evening
Join the hunt for the Northern Lights in the mountains of Narvik. Ride in a snowmobile sleigh to the Njalasouka Lavvu high up above the town where there is no artificial light. Enjoy a warm drink and a snack around the fire while you wait for the lights to hopefully appear. This trip is run by a traditional reindeer herding family and their stories add to the sense of culture and tradition on this trip.

Horse and Sleigh Ride under the Northern Lights
A sleigh ride under night under the dark skies. Listen to the sleigh bells while you stay warm and cosy on reindeer fur and under thick blankets. Through the forests and away from the light pollution this is a perfect place to enjoy the lights for the whole family.

Enjoy a boat trip to experience the fantastic Ofotfjord with its majestic mountains and deep fjords, where war history and natural surroundings meet in perfect harmony to create a wonderful trip!
Amazing fishing opportunities are around all year in Narvik with the possibility of catching Arctic Char or trout. During the first week of July the Million Fish Competition is not only a competition that offers an amazing prize but is also a welcome cultural event in the area.
Narvik is surrounded by fantastic hiking terrain with marshlands, mountains and amazing scenery. A walkers paradise.
