Getting There

There is no shortage of flight options to get to Tenerife and so you are really spoilt for choice. For our Whales and Stars package you would be best to fly into the South Airport of the Island but the North is also very accessible.


Tenerife lies within a sub-tropical climate with average daily temperatures of around 20 degrees throughout the whole year. There is a consistent North-Easterly breeze which keeps the temperatures from sky-rocketing too high.

The rain shadow effect caused by Mount Teide and the other volcanic mountains on the island keep the South-West of the Island very dry and the sea very calm which is perfect for your whale watching boat trips!


Tenerife is the largest of the 7 islands that make up the Canary Islands. It is undoubtedly a tourist hotspot however there are plenty of quieter, more exclusive areas of this beautiful Island.

Secluded bays near to the Masca Cliffs in Los Gigantes and the panoramic views of the sea from Costa Adeje make for a great holiday destination in the South-West of the Island.

Mount Teide within the Teide National Park is the highest elevation in Spain, boasts the highest point of all the islands in the Atlantic Ocean and is the third largest Volcano in the world. The skies above the National Park have been internationally accredited as some of the clearest skies in the world and forms an integral part of the EU Sky Route.

Plants and Animals

Due to the diversity of natural microclimates, and therefore habitats, means a wealth of different species of flora and fauna many of which are endemic to Tenerife.

Pilot whales and Bottlenose dolphins make these Canarian waters their permanent home due to the deep volcanic craters beneath the ocean providing them with food all year-round with other species making their annual migration here too for this reason. There is also an abundance of sea turtles and many different bird species.

Plants and vegetation is varied and is directly related to the altitudes in which they grow. There is a vast number of banana plantations and vineyards on the island.
