A Norwegian paradise
In this itinerary you will visit Lyngen – just a couple of hours from Tromso city centre depending on your method of transport – which is a veritable gem in Northern Norway offering true Norwegian food and hospitality. Lyngen itself offers beautiful views, amazing activities and in this particular itinerary a wonderful accommodation to boot. Lyngen Experience Lodge is a personal, small-scale lodge right on the fjord-side with it’s own jetty for those wishing to arrive by boat or head out on activities on the water and there is also a helipad to welcome guests by air. Guests are able to book a room within the lodge or hire the whole place exclusively depending on your group size and/or occasion. Your personal hosts are on hand to make sure you are well looked after and the activities on offer are completely unique making this a place you will want to return to again and again!
Summer Lyngen Adventure
Arrive into Tromso Airport and collect your baggage. You will head to meet your private transfer from Tromso to Lyngen by helicopter! See the most amazing views over the Lyngen Alps as you fly above them before touching down on the private helipad at Lyngen Experience Lodge. Check in and be greeted by your host. Depending on your arrival time you could choose to head out for a walk along the fjords or simply relax in the lodge or spa area before dinner in the restaurant.
A day of leisure awaits; why not go for a stroll along the fjords or relax in the outdoor hot tub? This evening, after dinner you will enjoy an amazing Midnight Sun hike to Lyngstuve Lighthouse. This beautiful hike is an experience you will never forget. Take a short drive to the northernmost point of the Lyngen Peninsula, where you will start walking the 3 kilometres that separate you from the Lyngstuve Light House. An easy walk will take you through the path where is a mixture of Sami, Kven and Norwegian cultural relics. A small lighthouse and a cabin await at the end of the trail with beautiful panoramic views of the islands, the surrounding fjords and the Fugløysundet strait. An amazing activity to do at Midnight beneath the 24 hour daylight!
The blue lake
Today, after breakfast you will visit Blaisvatnet Lake – the ‘bluest lake in the world’. This privately guided, medium-intensity hike will be well worth the effort! After a short drive to Sør-Lenangen, to the foot of the Lenangsbreen glacier hike around 4 kilometres to the lake, where you will be able to enjoy lunch and some refreshments in this amazing spot. If you’re feeling brave, you can have the chance to have a refreshing dip in this ice-cold water that is never more than 4 degrees! An amazing experience! Return to the lodge for a relaxing evening and dinner.
After breakfast this morning you will meet your private boat transfer who is ready to take you through the fjords back to Tromso for your onward flight. On the journey you may see a variety of wildlife such as seals, porpoises and sea eagles. What an amazing way to end your stay in Lyngen!
