A Trapper's Life
This is the closest you will get to staying in your own private Trapper’s Hut! Basecamp Hotel is an authentic and welcoming hotel with only 16 rooms. Situated in the heart of Longyearbyen, all amenities are within walking distance.
Basecamp Hotel is a rustic hotel, decorated with recycled materials and artifacts dating back to the trapping days of Svalbard. The combination of the friendly staff and the characteristic hotel can make it feel as though you have been invited into the home of a true Svalbardian. The spacious rooms are constructed out of driftwood, lumber and other traditional building materials. The rooms have no TV, although free Wifi is available at the hotel. You are welcome to use our cosy loft on the second floor, where you will get a great view of the northern lights during the dark season and experience the sunny nights during summer.
