Day 3

Vestmanna Bird Cliffs

Today, after breakfast you will head out on a visit to the bird cliffs and grottos north of Vestmanna; the Vestmannabjørgini. This is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the Faroe Islands and it is easy to see why. The rich bird life, exquisite cliffs and deep caves are, among others, what make Vestmanna bird cliffs a sight to behold. Sailing at reduced speed in between the free-standing rocks, into the caves and close to the around 600 m high cliff sides, you will get the chance to spot the many seabirds nesting, such as puffins, cormorants and fulmars. The sound of the seabirds, the whisper of the sea, the free-standing rocks, and the interaction between the many colours, make the trip an experience that you will never forget! Evening at leisure.

Saksun & Gjogv

Today, after breakfast, you will experience the best of the Faroe Islands on the northern part of Streymoy Island and Eysturoy Island. On Streymoy you will visit Saksun; set in a natural amphitheatre high above a tidal lagoon. This wonderful hillside village is one of the most picture-perfect destinations in the Faroe Islands. A unique atmosphere with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. You will also get the chance to see the old iconic turfed church overlooking the lagoon. Your private tour continues to Eysturoy and the village of Gjógv. Gjógv means gorge in Faroese and you will understand why the village got this name when looking into the beautiful sea-filled gorge that is the most iconic attraction in Gjógv. Gjógv is an idyllically located and beautiful quiet village with stunning views towards the island Kalsoy and other islands in the northern part of the Faroe Islands. From Gjógv you will stop by Eiðisskarð where you will have a great view towards the rocky sea stacks “The Giant and his Wife”.
