General Information

There are 3 main seasons in Svalbard due to it's position within the Arctic Circle - Polar Summer, Polar Winter and Sunny Winter. During the summer there are beautiful colours and contrasts which make the already stunning glaciers, mountains and seemingly endless tundras even more magical. The Polar winter is dark - in October the last rays of the sun are cast across the land before giving way to the Northern Lights. Don't be put off by this darkness though as for the serious Aurora hunter this means you can catch the Aurora at any time throughout the day, not just at night time! The sunny winter falls between March and May and is a beautiful combination of snow and sun - perfect for outdoor exploring. At 78 degrees North you will feel like a true adventurer but with the comforts of great hotel choices and some truly awesome experiences. Once you have been to Svalbard once, you will certainly want to return.
