Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival

Arrive in Ivalo before taking your transfer to Inari. You will be able to check into your wilderness room and collect your cold-weather clothing and get settled. Tonight enjoy a visit to the Aurora Camp! This trip takes you to a specifically chosen camp spot, where you will try to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. You will be comfortably seated in a sledge, pulled by a guide’s snowmobile. At the camp, there will be an open fire and warm drinks while waiting for the sky to show its magic.

Day 2

Snowmobile & Dog Sledding

After breakfast today you will be able to try snowmobiling on this two-hour experience. Driving in pairs you will get the chance to swap and take turns throughout the trip. You will also get to try dog sledding too which is a ‘must’ if visiting Lapland. You will be taught how to handle the sledge before you set off through the beautiful winter scenery. Enjoy the excitement of the dogs before the start, and the serene silence once they get to do what they love – run in the snowy scenery.

Day 3

Reindeer Farm & Aurora Snowshoeing

Today you will head out to learn more about the Sami people, their culture and their reindeer! Start the day with a visit to the reindeer farm; meet a local reindeer herder and his animals and learn information about the life and the culture of the Sámi people. You can also try to throw reindeer “lasso” suopunki. You will also visit the Siida Museum and Nature centre. During the visit you will get a lots of information about Sami culture and its history as well as about Lappish nature and it phenomena. Tonight you will end your stay on an amazing Aurora snowshoeing adventure.

Day 4

Departure

Check out this morning and take your transfer back to Ivalo Airport. This could just be a minibreak or you could decide to extend your stay! Why not travel elsewhere in Finnish Lapland or maybe cross the border into Northern Norway or Swedish Lapland?
