Day 1

Arrival in Swedish Lapland and Forest Retreat

Your journey begins with arrival at Luleå Airport where you are met and transferred deep into the forests of Swedish Lapland. The drive leads away from the coastline and into a peaceful landscape of pine trees, quiet rivers and open northern skies.

Upon arrival at Arctic Retreat you check into your handcrafted timber cabin, beautifully designed to blend with the surrounding nature. These cosy cabins offer comfort and privacy while keeping you connected to the stillness of the forest outside.

After settling in, meet your hosts Emanuel and Josefine who will guide your stay and introduce you to the rhythm of the retreat. With the rest of the afternoon free, begin to slow down and absorb the calm atmosphere.

Your first evening is centred on relaxation. Enjoy the warmth of a traditional wood fired sauna followed by time in the outdoor hot tub beneath the open northern sky. The surrounding forest and flowing river create an immediate sense of tranquillity.

Dinner is served in the evening, featuring a carefully prepared three course meal highlighting seasonal ingredients and regional flavours. It is a gentle and grounding introduction to the days ahead, allowing you to unwind after travel and fully settle into this peaceful Lapland retreat.

Day 2

Sámi Culture and Forest Wellness

Wake to the quiet beauty of the forest and enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the retreat before beginning your first guided experience of Lapland.

Together you set out on a guided forest hike where Lennart shares stories about Sámi culture, traditions and the deep relationship between people and the northern landscape. The walk offers insight into both the history of the Sámi people and how their culture continues today.

Partway through the excursion you pause for an outdoor lunch prepared and enjoyed in nature. Eating slowly in the fresh air is an important part of the retreat’s philosophy of mindful wellbeing.

Back at Arctic Retreat the afternoon is dedicated to relaxation and healing. You will enjoy a massage treatment with Cicci Andersson, whose work draws inspiration from traditional healing practices and her extensive experience in wellness therapies.
