Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Helsinki

You arrive in Helsinki in the late afternoon and are met at the airport for a premium private transfer to your Junior Suite in the historic Hotel Kamp in the city centre. After checking in, you will have time to unwind and settle into your surroundings. A restaurant reservation has been arranged for the evening, allowing you to enjoy your first taste of Finnish cuisine at a relaxed pace. The rest of the evening is free, offering a gentle introduction to Helsinki before your Arctic journey begins.

Day 2

Helsinki to Swedish Lapland

After breakfast, you are transferred privately to Helsinki Airport for your onward flight north. Flights are suggested but not included. On arrival in Swedish Lapland, you continue by premium guided transfer through the historic Gammelstad church town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You then arrive at Arctic Bath, where the afternoon is reserved for relaxation and exploration of the riverside setting. In the evening, a three course dinner is served, followed by the option to enjoy the sauna, hot tub, and cold bath. Northern Lights sightings are possible depending on conditions.

Day 3

Arctic Bath Experiences

After breakfast, you head out for a private ice fishing experience on a nearby frozen lake, guided by local experts. Lunch is served during the excursion. You return to Arctic Bath for a relaxed afternoon, with time to enjoy the spa facilities and peaceful winter surroundings. In the evening, a three course dinner is followed by a private snowmobile tour through forest landscapes, offering an exhilarating way to explore the Arctic night and search for the Northern Lights.

Day 4

Storforsen Rapids and Treehotel

After breakfast, you depart on a private excursion to the impressive Storforsen rapids, one of Europe’s most powerful waterways. Wooden walkways allow you to explore the frozen landscape, while lunch is prepared over an open fire. Alternatively, ice skating around the city of Luleå may be offered if weather conditions allow. Later in the day, you arrive at Treehotel and settle into the Seventh Room, suspended among the trees. Dinner is served at the hotel, with further Northern Lights opportunities in the evening.

Day 5

Swedish Lapland to Finnish Wilderness

After a relaxed morning, you pack and enjoy lunch before continuing your journey into Finnish Lapland. You are transferred to the secluded wilderness setting of Octola, where you receive high quality winter outer clothing on arrival. A welcome reception introduces you to your surroundings and your private hosts. Dinner is prepared by your personal chef. In the evening, you may join your host for a Northern Lights search on foot or by vehicle, or unwind in the panorama sauna and outdoor hot tub.

Day 6

Snowmobiling at Octola

After breakfast prepared by your chef, you set out on a guided snowmobiling adventure along Octola’s private tracks. The route takes you deep into untouched wilderness landscapes. You return to the villa for lunch, followed by time to relax in the Octola Spa, including the panoramic swimming pool. In the evening, a three course dinner is served, with Northern Lights monitoring continuing throughout the night.

Day 7

Huskies and Reindeer

After breakfast, you depart for a husky sledding adventure through snowy forest trails, learning to guide the dogs yourself. Lunch is served before visiting a local reindeer farm, where you learn about traditional herding life and enjoy a peaceful reindeer sleigh ride. Stories are shared by the fire before returning to Octola. The evening concludes with a three course dinner and another opportunity to witness the Northern Lights in complete wilderness seclusion.

Day 8

Arctic Train to Helsinki

After breakfast, you are transferred to Rovaniemi train station for an overnight train journey south to Helsinki. Travelling in a private, spacious compartment, you enjoy a comfortable and scenic journey through Finland’s vast landscapes. On arrival in Helsinki, a premium private transfer takes you to your suite at The Hotel St George. A restaurant reservation has been arranged for your final evening in the city.

Day 9

Departure from Helsinki

After breakfast, you are met for a premium private transfer to Helsinki Airport, bringing your Nordic winter journey to a seamless conclusion.
