Your Arctic exploration begins with arrival at Kiruna airport in Swedish Lapland, followed by a private transfer to the world-famous Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. Upon arrival, a dedicated host will provide a warm welcome, assist with luggage, and offer a private tour of this incredible art installation carved entirely from ice. You will settle into your Cold Suites, equipped with comfortable arctic sleeping bags, with warm backup rooms available for peace of mind.

The evening’s focal point is a unique five-course ice menu dinner, meticulously prepared with the freshest local ingredients and served on plates of ice from the Torne River.

The remainder of the evening is relaxed, offering your first excellent opportunity to step outside and search the dark, clear skies for the Northern Lights.

Wake up to a crisp morning in the Icehotel before enjoying a hearty breakfast. Following your check-out, a scenic private transfer takes you east for approximately three and a half hours, crossing the border into Finnish Lapland to the beautiful Cahkal Hotel in Kilpisjärvi.

Upon arrival, lunch is served at the hotel’s Aika restaurant, which specialises in modern Arctic gastronomy using local ingredients. You will settle into your Cahkal View Rooms, which boast floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the stunning mountain fells. The afternoon offers an optional shared panoramic sauna session before the special four-course Christmas Eve dinner. The night is made truly magical as Santa Claus and his reindeer arrive to bring Christmas spirit and traditional presents for the whole family.

Christmas Day begins with a delicious breakfast served at the Cahkal Hotel’s Aika restaurant. The main activity of the day is a thrilling three-hour private dog sledding excursion. After meeting the eager husky team, you will learn to mush your own sled through quiet pine forests before ascending into the pristine white mountains, offering unforgettable views of the extraordinary range.

Lunch is served back at the hotel, followed by another optional shared panoramic sauna session to relax and unwind. After a cosy dinner, you will embark on a snowmobile sleigh ride night adventure. Comfortably nestled in a warm sleigh, an experienced guide will pull you deep into the quiet wilderness, optimising the chances of witnessing the spectacular Northern Lights dancing overhead.

Today is dedicated to exhilarating adventure and cultural immersion, starting with breakfast at Aika restaurant. The morning features a three-hour shared snowmobiling adventure. Following a full safety briefing, your expert guide will lead you through the breathtaking surrounding tundra and offer spectacular mountain views unique to the Kilpisjärvi region. Lunch is again served at the hotel. Our cuisine today is inspired from our neighbouring three countries which you have travelled through on snowmobiles today, from the views out of the windows in the restaurant, you can see Finland, Norway and Sweden, with our ingredients sourced from all three destinations.

The afternoon offers a fascinating cultural experience with a two-hour visit to a local reindeer farm, conveniently located next door. Here, you will meet a local Saami reindeer herder, learn about this essential livelihood, and have the opportunity to feed the iconic Arctic animals. The day concludes with a private two-hour sauna session, complete with a cosy lounge and a selection of drinks and snacks.

Enjoy your final delicious breakfast served at the Cahkal Hotel’s Aika restaurant, reflecting on the unforgettable Arctic Christmas you have experienced. Following check-out, a private transfer will be arranged to take you to either Tromsø or Kittilä airport, depending on your onward travel plans.
