Day 1

Arrive at Oslo Airport where you will be welcomed and transferred privately to your hotel in the Norwegian capital. Your accommodation, Sommerro House, is a beautifully restored Art Deco landmark offering a blend of historic character and contemporary Scandinavian style.

After check in, spend the rest of the day settling in and enjoying the surrounding neighbourhood. Oslo is a vibrant city filled with museums, waterfront promenades and modern Nordic architecture. Guests may wish to explore the nearby harbour area or enjoy a relaxed evening discovering the city’s restaurants.

Dinner is at leisure this evening. Overnight at Sommerro House.

Day 2

Discover Oslo at Your Own Pace

Begin the day with breakfast at your hotel before enjoying a full day at leisure in Oslo. The Norwegian capital offers a rich combination of culture, design and natural beauty.

Explore the world class museums on the Bygdøy Peninsula, stroll through Vigeland Sculpture Park or visit the iconic Oslo Opera House with its walkable roof overlooking the fjord. For those seeking relaxation, a floating sauna experience on the fjord provides a uniquely Nordic wellness experience.

Alternatively, a scenic fjord cruise or guided city tour can be arranged to deepen your understanding of Oslo’s history and architecture.

Day 3

Scenic Rail Journey to the Fjords

After breakfast, transfer privately to Oslo train station for one of Norway’s most scenic journeys. Travel through mountains, forests and valleys as the railway climbs towards Myrdal before descending on the famous Flåm Railway through the dramatic Flåm Valley.

Upon arrival in Flåm, enjoy time to explore this picturesque fjord village surrounded by towering cliffs and waterfalls. From here, continue by private transfer through stunning fjord landscapes to the charming countryside retreat of Bestebakken in Hafslo.

After checking in, enjoy a delicious three course dinner prepared with local ingredients. Overnight at Bestebakken.

Day 4

UNESCO Heritage and Fjord Relaxation

Following breakfast, set out on a self guided excursion to the remarkable Urnes Stave Church, the oldest stave church in Norway and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to the twelfth century, the church is famous for its intricate wood carvings and Viking era artistic influences.

Your journey includes ferry crossings across the Lustrafjord and transfers to the nearby village pier.

Return to Bestebakken in the afternoon where you can unwind in a private sauna while enjoying views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.

A three course dinner is served in the evening.

Day 5

Norwegian Countryside Adventures

Today offers a flexible and immersive experience in the Norwegian countryside. Those seeking an active adventure can enjoy a scenic cycling route along the peaceful shores of Lake Hafslo, surrounded by mountains and glacier fed landscapes.

Meanwhile, other family members can enjoy a hands on farm experience including alpaca feeding, egg collecting and learning about local farm life.Later in the day everyone reunites beside the lake for a relaxed picnic lunch while enjoying the fresh mountain air and spectacular scenery.

Return to the hotel in the afternoon and enjoy another private sauna session followed by a three course dinner.

Day 6

Fjord Safari and Viking Heritage

After breakfast, transfer back to Flåm for an exciting fjord safari by high speed boat. This small group experience travels deep into the UNESCO listed Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord where towering cliffs, waterfalls and remote fjord villages create unforgettable scenery.

Following the fjord adventure, continue to Gudvangen Viking Village where reconstructed longhouses and living history demonstrations offer a fascinating insight into Viking life.

Later, travel by private transfer to the historic coastal city of Bergen. After checking in to Bergen Børs, enjoy the evening at leisure exploring the colourful harbour and vibrant restaurants.

Day 7

Bergen and a Spectacular Seaplane Flight

Begin the day with breakfast before transferring to the seaplane pier for a breathtaking private flight above the fjords. During this unforgettable aerial experience you will fly over Bergen’s surrounding mountains, islands and dramatic fjord landscapes.

After the flight, return to the city and enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring Bergen. Visit the UNESCO listed Bryggen Wharf, ride the Fløibanen funicular for panoramic views from Mount Fløyen or wander through the lively fish market.

Day 8

Journey to the Lakes of Nesflaten

After breakfast, depart Bergen for a scenic drive through western Norway towards the village of Nesflaten. The journey passes through dramatic mountain landscapes and remote valleys.

Your destination is Energihotellet, a striking architectural landmark perched above Lake Suldalsvatnet. Designed in the 1960s, the hotel is known for its distinctive modernist design and breathtaking panoramic views.

Spend the afternoon relaxing in the peaceful surroundings, enjoying the lakeside scenery or exploring the nearby nature trails.

Day 9

Heritage Experience in Ryfylke

After breakfast, enjoy a cultural journey into Norway’s rural past with a private visit to the Ryfylke Museum at Kolbeinstveit. This historic farm complex offers a glimpse into traditional life in the Norwegian countryside during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

During your guided visit you will explore preserved wooden buildings, hear stories about the families who lived here and learn about traditional farming and local customs.

Return to Energihotellet in the afternoon for a relaxing final evening surrounded by the tranquil lake and mountain scenery.
