Oslo, Bergen and Lofoten Summer Escape

Your Norwegian journey begins today as you arrive in Oslo. A private transfer will be waiting to take you to The Thief Hotel, Oslo’s boldest design hotel. The hotel is perched on the waterfront at Tjuvholmen beside Aker Brygge and the Astrup Fearnley Museum. Expect “quiet luxury” with serious art credentials and contemporary Nordic cuisine. You will check in and settle into your Standard Double Room. Take time to relax after your journey. The rest of the evening is at leisure. We can pre-book dinners for you at a local restaurant if you wish. This evening is a gentle introduction to your adventure.

After breakfast at The Thief, a private transfer will take you back to Oslo Airport for your flight to Bergen. Please note the flight is not included in the price. Upon arrival in Bergen, you will be met and taken by private transfer to the Bergen Børs Hotel. This historic hotel is set in the city’s former stock exchange building, dating back to 1862, and perfectly blends this history with modern Nordic elegance. The hotel is perfectly positioned in the heart of Bergen, just steps from the fish market, the UNESCO listed Bryggen wharf, and the Fløibanen funicular. After check in, the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure.

Your day begins with breakfast, before embarking on a shared fjord cruise to Mostraumen. This spectacular three hour round trip takes you up the 27 kilometre long Osterfjord. Underway, the fjord narrows between steep mountains as you are brought safely through the powerful currents of the shallow and narrow Mostraumen strait. The boat sails right up to a waterfall to catch a bucket of ice cold mountain water for you to sample. Later, you have tickets for the Fløibanen funicular to the summit of Mount Floyen, an essential Bergen experience. We suggest a slow hike back down, try the play parks made for both children and adults, and enjoy photographing the beautiful views or Bergen. Dinner is included this evening.

Following breakfast, you will check out and take a private transfer to Bergen airport for your flight to Leknes. Upon arrival in Leknes, you will collect your rental car, a Toyota Rav 4 or similar, which includes an extra driver, unlimited kilometres, and insurance. You will then drive to the beautifully preserved fishing village of Nusfjord Arctic Resort. Check into your Harbour Cabin Suite, which is built from traditional fishermen’s rorbu cabins and retains original wooden walls. Dinner is included in the evening with time to relax. Nusfjord combines authentic coastal heritage with understated luxury.

After breakfast, you will embark on a Guided Hike to Tønnsåsheia. This is a scenic and moderately challenging excursion accompanied by a local guide. The guide will give you insight into the area’s history, geology, and nature. The hike rewards you with sweeping views of the southern Norwegian coastline, surrounding fjords, and inland forests. The afternoon is reserved for you to take a drive to some of the beautiful local scenery, exploring at your own pace with your rental car. You will return to Nusfjord for dinner in the evening, with the full board meal plan included for today.

Breakfast is included before a whole day at leisure to explore the stunning Lofoten Islands. This is an ideal time to make full use of your rental car to discover the unique landscapes of the archipelago. We highly recommend visiting the famous fishing villages of Henningsvaer, Å, or Reine. A special recommendation is to stop for lunch at the bakery in Å. The Harbour Cabin Suite retains its heritage character, and waking here feels like being part of the village’s history, with waves lapping beneath and boats passing by outside. Dinner is included in the evening.

Enjoy breakfast and a leisurely morning at Nusfjord Arctic Resort. Check out, and drive towards your next destination, Hattvika Lodge, located in the quaint fishing village of Ballstad. Along the way, we suggest stopping at Rambergstranda viewpoint for photos on the bay, Vikten Glasshytta (a glassblowing studio), or Flakstad church for classic Lofoten architecture. Upon arrival at Hattvika, you will check into Bendiksenbua, your luxurious seaside suite. This unit is for quality conscious guests, with welcome snacks and direct access to a private Jacuzzi and outdoor shower. A three course dinner is included this evening.

Breakfast is included at Hattvika Lodge , followed by a morning at leisure to enjoy the most spacious and luxurious surroundings of Bendiksenbua. This fisherman cottage has two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious living room with high ceilings and a fully equipped kitchen. The interior is modern Nordic and reflects the fisherman’s heritage. You will have time to enjoy your private terrace, which gets the sunrise first, before your scheduled activity. This afternoon you will enjoy a private sauna session. A three course dinner is included this evening

Following breakfast, you will embark on a Private Hiking Tour. This is a full day experience, with the tour options varying depending on your preferences. Whether you prefer a gentle seaside walk, a sightseeing journey through the landscape, or the challenge of a mountain climb, your private guide will craft the day to suit your pace and interests. The details will be planned together with your guide to ensure a truly memorable outing. A packed lunch is included. The evening is at leisure to book a local restaurant for your last night in Lofoten.

After breakfast, you will check out of Hattvika Lodge. You will drive to Leknes airport to return your rental car and take your flight back to Oslo. Upon arrival in Oslo, a private transfer will take you back to The Thief. The rest of the evening is at leisure. The Thief is conveniently located beside Aker Brygge and the Astrup Fearnley Museum. Flights are not included.

Your Norwegian adventure concludes today. After breakfast at your Oslo hotel, a private transfer will be waiting to take you to OSL for your onward journey.
