Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Norway

Upon arrival into Oslo Gardermoen Airport, your private driver will be waiting to greet you and transfer you into the heart of the city. Your base for the next two nights is the beautifully restored Hotel Amerikalinjen, a landmark property that combines early twentieth-century architecture with contemporary Scandinavian style. Check into your Deluxe Room, designed with calming tones, soft lighting and luxurious bedding to help you unwind after your journey.

Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to begin your Norwegian adventure with a floating sauna session on the Oslo fjord. Step into the warmth, surrounded by still waters and elegant wood interiors, and enjoy the quiet serenity of this unique local tradition. For those feeling adventurous, a dip in the fjord is an invigorating start to your stay.

The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Whether you choose to relax at the hotel or explore Oslo’s harbourfront neighbourhoods, we are happy to assist with dinner reservations at one of the capital’s exceptional restaurants. Expect seasonal produce, creative Nordic flavours and a welcoming atmosphere to begin your Norwegian summer escape.

Day 2

Private Oslo City Walk and Fjord Speedboat Experience

After a relaxed breakfast at the Amerikalinjen Hotel, meet your expert guide for a private Oslo city walk, designed to showcase the capital’s highlights at your pace. This personalised tour offers insight into Oslo’s vibrant culture and history as you wander through charming neighbourhoods, striking modern architecture and green city spaces. With your guide tailoring the route to your interests, you will gain a local’s perspective on both famous landmarks and hidden corners.

Lunch is at leisure, with many excellent options to choose from. Whether you’re after traditional Nordic flavours, fresh seafood or contemporary cafés, we are happy to offer suggestions based on your preferences.

This afternoon, choose from a private speedboat tour or a guided kayaking experience to explore Oslo’s iconic fjord. The speedboat tour offers a fast-paced, exhilarating ride past islands, sculpture parks and waterfront homes, giving you an exciting overview of the city from the water. Alternatively, opt for kayaking for a peaceful, slower-paced journey along the shoreline, allowing for a deeper connection with nature and a chance to glide silently through the inlets.

The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Oslo’s summer atmosphere is relaxed and sociable, and we are happy to recommend the perfect place to dine.

Day 3

Travel North to Tromsø

After breakfast at Amerikalinjen, check out and meet your private driver for a smooth transfer back to Oslo Gardermoen Airport. You will then board your flight north to Tromsø (not included), the gateway to Norway’s Arctic wilderness.

On arrival in Tromsø, your second private driver will be waiting to meet you for the short transfer to The Dock 69 by Scandic, a striking new hotel located on the harbourfront. Check into your Junior Suite, offering stylish furnishings, generous space and sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and water. With elegant Nordic design and a central location, this is a perfect base to explore the Arctic capital.

Spend the rest of the afternoon settling in and enjoying the long daylight hours of the far north. You may wish to take a walk along the waterfront, browse small local shops or simply enjoy a drink with a view from the hotel lounge.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at leisure. Tromsø’s restaurants highlight fresh, seasonal Arctic ingredients. We are happy to recommend and reserve a table to suit your style and tastes.

Day 4

Guided Tromsø City Walk and Arctic Culture at Leisure

After breakfast at The Dock 69 by Scandic, you’ll meet your local guide for a private Tromsø city walk, designed to showcase the charm and history of this Arctic capital. Learn about Tromsø’s role in polar exploration, wander past its iconic wooden houses, and hear how the city blends its seafaring past with a vibrant cultural present. Your guide will tailor the experience to your pace and interests, and will recommend hidden corners, viewpoints and stories you might not otherwise discover. The walk concludes with lunch included at a local eatery, allowing you to sample regional flavours and warm hospitality.

The afternoon is yours to explore at your own rhythm. You may choose to visit the Arctic Cathedral, stop into one of the city’s fascinating museums, or take the cable car to Mount Storsteinen for panoramic views across the islands and surrounding fjords. Alternatively, enjoy a slow afternoon in one of Tromsø’s cafés or browse independent shops along the harbour.

Your evening is at leisure. With endless daylight and a relaxed city pace, this is the perfect chance to enjoy Tromsø’s restaurants, bars or a quiet walk by the sea. We are happy to assist with dining suggestions and reservations.

Day 5

Scenic Transfer to Lyngen and Arctic Lodge Welcome

Enjoy your final morning in Tromsø with time to explore the city at your own pace. You may wish to take a relaxed stroll along the harbour, stop for a coffee at one of the city’s excellent cafés or browse local boutiques for artisan crafts and souvenirs. This is a good moment to take in Tromsø’s laid-back atmosphere before the next chapter of your Arctic journey begins.

Later in the day, your private driver will collect you for the scenic journey to the Lyngen Alps. The road winds through breathtaking mountain and fjord landscapes, offering glimpses of the dramatic coastline and the pure natural beauty that defines this remote region.

On arrival, you’ll check into your Double Sea View Room at Lyngen Experience Lodge. This intimate and luxurious property sits directly on the fjord, surrounded by towering peaks and open water. After settling in, take some time to enjoy the peaceful setting from your room or the panoramic lounge.

In the evening, a three-course dinner is served in the lodge’s elegant dining room. Expect seasonal ingredients, locally sourced produce and refined flavours designed to reflect the surrounding nature. With just a handful of guests, the dining experience is warm, personal and quietly luxurious.

Day 6

Biking in Lyngen and Arctic Leisure

After breakfast overlooking the fjord, the day begins with a guided biking experience through the spectacular landscapes surrounding Lyngen Experience Lodge. Set out on quiet trails or winding roads, depending on the conditions and your preferred pace. This activity allows you to explore the local scenery up close, riding past mountain views, Arctic flora and small coastal hamlets. Whether you choose a gentle route or something more active, the fresh air and stillness of this region make it an unforgettable ride.

Return to the lodge for a well-earned rest, and spend the afternoon entirely at leisure. You may wish to relax with a book in the panoramic lounge, walk along the shoreline or enjoy a coffee on the terrace while watching boats drift through the fjord. If you’re feeling adventurous, speak to the lodge team about additional activities or local hiking paths you can explore independently.

As evening falls, a three-course dinner is served in the restaurant. Using local and seasonal ingredients, the menu changes daily and is carefully crafted by the in-house chef. With only a small number of guests at the lodge, the dining experience feels warm, unhurried and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.

Day 7

Hike to Blåisvatnet and Evening at Leisure

Today’s adventure takes you deeper into the heart of Lyngen’s wild beauty with a guided hike to Blåisvatnet, one of the region’s most striking glacial lakes. Known for its vivid turquoise colour and dramatic mountain backdrop, Blåisvatnet is a local hidden gem and a true reward for those willing to take on the trail. This moderate-to-challenging hike requires good fitness, with uneven terrain and steady uphill sections. However, the views along the way and the final reveal of the glacier-fed lake are more than worth the effort.

Weather permitting, you will also have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the icy-clear water, a bold but invigorating Arctic experience that few forget. After time to relax and take photos at the lake, your guide will lead you back along the scenic return trail.

Return to Lyngen Experience Lodge in the afternoon for well-earned rest and quiet time. You may wish to take a hot shower, unwind in your Sea View Room or simply relax in the communal lounge with a drink and a view of the fjord.

In the evening, a final three-course dinner will be served in the lodge restaurant, celebrating fresh flavours and Nordic culinary tradition in a relaxed, elegant setting.

Day 8

Departure from the Lyngen Alps

Wake up one final time to the peaceful stillness of the Lyngen Alps and enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge with views over the fjord. This is a chance to take in the last few moments of your Arctic summer escape. Whether you choose to sit outside with a coffee, take one final stroll along the shoreline or simply enjoy the view from your room, this final morning offers a quiet moment of reflection.

After check out, your private transfer will be waiting to take you back to Tromsø Airport for your onward journey. The drive offers one last scenic look at the region’s soaring peaks, still waters and unspoilt landscapes. It is a fitting farewell to a part of Norway where the pace slows, the light lingers and nature always takes centre stage.
