Day by Day Itinerary

Day 2

A Leisurely Introduction to Stockholm

After breakfast, the day is intentionally unstructured to allow guests to explore Stockholm at their own pace. Wander the cobbled streets of Gamla Stan, browse independent boutiques, or visit one of the city’s renowned galleries and museums. The city’s island setting offers endless scenic walks along frozen waterways. Lunch is by personal arrangement, with the option to secure reservations at world class restaurants. The afternoon is ideal for coffee stops, design shopping or simply relaxing back at the hotel.

Day 3

Old Town Heritage and the Vasa Legacy

This morning, a private guide leads a detailed walking tour through Stockholm’s atmospheric Old Town. Guests explore the Royal Palace, Stockholm Cathedral and historic Stortorget while learning about Sweden’s royal and maritime past. The tour continues across the harbour to the Vasa Museum, home to the remarkably preserved seventeenth century warship. Guests may remain at the museum as long as they wish. The afternoon is free to explore further or relax, with dinner at leisure.

Day 4

Into the Arctic and the ICEHOTEL Experience

After breakfast, guests transfer to the airport for their flight north to Kiruna. On arrival, a private transfer takes them to the iconic ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi. Before check in, there is time to explore the extraordinary ice art installations and frozen architecture. Once settled into warm Arctic Chalets, the evening unfolds with a wilderness dinner deep in nature, featuring seasonal ingredients and storytelling. As night falls, conditions may align for the first Northern Lights sightings. Flights not included.

Day 5

Lapland Landscapes and Arctic Retreat Arrival

Following breakfast, the morning is free to further explore the ICEHOTEL or walk to nearby cultural attractions. After lunch, guests travel through stunning Arctic scenery to Arctic Retreat, a secluded luxury lodge set beside a frozen river. Upon arrival, guests settle into private luxury cabins surrounded by forest and silence. The evening begins with a welcoming dinner inspired by local flavours, while the remote setting provides excellent opportunities for Northern Lights viewing.

Day 6

Dog Sledding and Sámi Storytelling

Today delivers a classic Lapland experience with a private dog sledding adventure through snow laden forests and across frozen lakes. Guests drive their own team, learning how to work with the huskies, before stopping for a warming outdoor lunch. The afternoon is reserved for relaxation, with time to enjoy the sauna, hot tub or peaceful surroundings. In the evening, a private fireside Sámi dinner offers cultural insight through traditional cuisine and storytelling.

Day 7

Moose Safari and Northern Lights Chase

After breakfast, guests embark on a private moose safari by snowmobile drawn sled, gliding quietly through winter landscapes in search of these majestic animals. A wilderness lunch is enjoyed along the way. Returning to the lodge, the afternoon offers rest and reflection before dinner. Later, a private Northern Lights chase takes guests into the darkness, gathering around a bonfire while watching the skies for dancing aurora.

Day 8

Ice Fishing and Arctic Stillness

This morning introduces the traditional Arctic practice of ice fishing. Guests learn how to drill through the ice and fish on a frozen lake while staying warm on reindeer skins. Hot drinks and local treats are served before returning for lunch. The afternoon is unhurried, allowing time to enjoy the quiet beauty of the Arctic landscape. Dinner is served at the lodge, rounding out a day of authentic northern living.

Day 9

Ice Artistry and Arrival at Arctic Bath

After breakfast, guests try their hand at ice sculpting, shaping blocks of ice into unique creations while enjoying warm drinks and Swedish fika. Lunch is followed by a scenic transfer to Arctic Bath. On arrival, guests check into striking wooden cabins floating on the frozen river. Spa access is available throughout the stay, offering hot and cold bathing rituals. Dinner is served overlooking the river, with Northern Lights possible overhead.

Day 10

Extended Dog Sledding and Spa Relaxation

Today features a full day dog sledding experience, travelling deeper into the Arctic wilderness with time to bond with the dogs and guides. This morning, guests set out on a private snowshoe adventure through taiga forest, searching for wildlife tracks and enjoying lunch cooked over an open fire. Returning to Arctic Bath, the afternoon is free for spa use or relaxation. The evening centres on an Arctic culinary experience, where creative dishes celebrate local produce and micro seasonality.

Day 12

Reindeer Culture and Treehotel Architecture

After breakfast, guests visit a Sámi reindeer herder, learning about traditional livelihoods, hearing joik singing and sharing a meal prepared over an open fire. From here, luggage is transferred ahead as guests travel to the Treehotel. After check in, time is available to explore the forest surroundings and admire the unique tree cabin designs before dinner.

Day 13

Forest Sleigh Ride and Gastronomic Finale

A peaceful sleigh or cart ride through silent forests offers a gentle way to experience the landscape. Lunch is enjoyed at the Treehotel, followed by a relaxed afternoon. The final evening features a gastronomic tasting experience, showcasing innovative Nordic cuisine inspired by the surrounding wilderness.

Day 14

Return to Stockholm

After breakfast, guests transfer privately to Luleå Airport for their flight south. On arrival in Stockholm, a private transfer returns them to the Lydmar Hotel. The final afternoon and evening are free for last minute shopping, sightseeing or a memorable farewell dinner in the city. Flights are not included.

Departure

Following breakfast, guests are transferred privately to Stockholm Airport for their onward flight, concluding an exceptional journey through Sweden’s winter landscapes, culture and design.
