Our bespoke foodie holidays take you on a journey through the fjords of Norway, the stylish streets of Sweden, and the design-led hubs of Finland, staying in Michelin Key hotels that define a new era of luxury.
Michelin Key Gastronomy Across Scandinavia

A Michelin Key Journey Through the North
Your adventure traverses the most spectacular corners of Scandinavia, from Norway’s dramatic Sunnmøre Alps to the historic elegance of Stockholm and the creative energy of Helsinki. Staying in world class accommodation recognised by the prestigious Michelin Key for excellence, you will experience hospitality that is both intimate and grand. These hotels are more than just places to rest; they are architectural masterpieces like the Grand Hôtel Stockholm, each harmonising with its surroundings to provide a perfect stage for gastronomic wonder.
The itinerary follows a path of sensory discovery. Whether you are exploring the Art Nouveau charm of Ålesund, the tranquil Sognefjord, or the vibrant capital cities, you will encounter a landscape that provides the world’s finest raw ingredients. The journey is as much about the vistas as it is about the plate, with each transition offering a new perspective on the breathtaking topography of the Arctic Circle and beyond.

The Best Food in the Best Restaurants
At the centre of these foodie experiences is the food itself. You will dine in Michelin starred restaurants where visionary chefs transform local produce into edible art. Savour hand dived scallops from the cold Atlantic, succulent mountain lamb, and rare berries foraged from the high plateaus of Swedish Lapland. These chefs are masters of New Nordic cuisine, a movement that celebrates purity, simplicity, and freshness.
Highlights of our Michelin trips include the opportunity to dine at legendary establishments where the boundary between the kitchen and the environment disappears. From the underwater wonder of Under in Southern Norway to the acclaimed Hoven Restaurant at the top of the Loen Skylift, frequently mentioned in the Michelin Guide, with each course is a revelation. Paired with exquisite wines or artisanal juices that highlight the flavours of the North, these meals represent the height of global fine dining.

Authentic Connection and Cultural Depth
These holidays offer a deep connection to the people who produce the food. You will meet the artisans, from local cheesemakers in mountain dairies to sustainable fishermen who have worked these waters for generations. These interactions provide a profound understanding of the provenance of your meals and the heritage of Nordic food culture.
Between feasts, there is time to explore the culture and history of each region. Whether taking a private boat tour through a UNESCO listed fjord, visiting a remote art gallery in the mountains, or enjoying a private guided tour of Helsinki’s design district, the pace is dictated by your own desires. The combination of high end luxury and raw, authentic experiences creates a balance that is uniquely Scandinavian.

Luxury Refined: The Michelin Experience
Every aspect of your stay is curated to ensure total comfort. The Michelin Key hotels we select, such as Storfjord Hotel or Hotel d’Angleterre, offer sanctuaries of design and tranquillity. After a day of exploring and an evening of fine dining, you can relax in a wood fired sauna overlooking the water or enjoy a nightcap by a roaring fire.
The service is impeccable yet understated, reflecting the genuine warmth of Nordic hospitality. This is more than a holiday; it is a celebration of the finer things in life, set against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful places on earth. With Off The Map Travel, you will discover that the best way to understand the Nordics is through their extraordinary flavours.
We really enjoyed our Norwegian adventure despite the -22 days! Unfortunately no real experience of viewing the Lights but we did capture a couple of images on our last night – too much cloud otherwise so lots of snow. We really enjoyed the husky lodge – not at all what we had tentatively imagined. Thanks for your assistance, maybe next time we will see the Lights in all their glory.
Amy was a great help with planning this trip. Our trip turned out amazing. I also was very grateful for Off the Map’s Front Desk service, which promptly handled an on the spot issue we had.
Arctic Retreat was simply magical. Graham and his team were superb. Their entire focus was on ensuring we had an outstanding experience. The accommodation, setting and food were all excellent. The team, experienced professionals, each brought their own personal touch and local nuance. It was faultless. The dog sledging trip directly from Arctic Retreat was also superb. We would return to Arctic Retreat in a heartbeat.
We originally hired Off the Map Travel in 2020 to set up a trip to see the Northern Lights. That didn’t happen, thanks to COVID. But, we persisted and in March of 2023, we took a 16-day trip that included both Iceland and Norway. IT WAS MAGICAL! Off the Map took care of everything! We were pampered at every stage of our trip. The people they hired and the activities they planned added up to a trip that will set the standard for any we’ll ever take in the future. Alex and his team were fabulous! We recommend them without restraint!
The ease of everything stood out to me. All we had to do was be there at the right time. The dog sledding was the highlight for my daughter and sister. We had the best time! For me, Manshausen was the highlight. We were very lucky and the only guests there for the majority of our stay. The staff was amazing and the food was so delicious. We had moose steak and it was the best meal I’ve ever had.
The cabins were comfortable and we were so lucky to have 2 clear nights where we just sat and watched the northern lights. We were able to get some awesome pictures too.
I appreciate all your time and care with planning our trip! I won’t hesitate to use Off the Map travel for our next adventure.
Well-organized trip to Norway and Svalbard with great accommodations and activities. Gwen was communicative and responsive to requests. Highly recommend!
Amy planned a fantastic trip! Everything was very well-thought out. All transfers went smoothly, accommodations were amazing, great restaurant recommendations and the tours were once-in-a-lifetime, can’t book it yourself off the internet experiences. The guides were all fantastic. Communications were prompt and everything worked exactly the way it was supposed to. What a pleasure! Already working on our next trip.
Hello Lucy!! Kim and I had a fantastic time in Iceland! Probably one of my top 3 trips I’ve ever taken!
It was everything we asked for and you did a wonderful job coordinating it all so beautifully!!
Thank you very much and we will contact you again when we get ready to plan our trip to Norway and Lapland!
I used OTMT to organise a holiday to see the Northern Lights for my partner’s 50th birthday. They took the time to understand my priorities, the kinds of places we like to stay and the things we like to do. They recommended a fabulous itinerary in Norway centred around the Lyngen Experience Lodge. The holiday itself lived up to expectations and I have no hesitation in recommending OTMT. They listened carefully during the planning and delivered the perfect present for my partner.
We have loved it so much here that we have extended our stay and will come back to Bjornfjell and stay in one of their cabins until Jan 3 then we are staying in the igloo hotel the night of the 3rd. 😊We added a few excursions this week – we did the whale trip on the RIB boat (wow!), toured the igloo hotel (which is why we decided to book the last night!) and did the reindeer sleigh at Sorrisniva. You were so right, the bonfire excursion was incredible!!It has been an absolutely amazing trip!
What an amazing trip we are having. It is incredible. Many many thanks for arranging such an incredible trip.
Off the Map Travel was great! Alex helped us plan the most amazing 10 day honeymoon to Iceland. He gave us great recommendations and was so patient with us during the planning process!
