Step into a winter fairytale with Off The Map Travel’s private Santa experiences in Finnish Lapland and Swedish Lapland.
Private Santa Experiences in Finnish and Swedish Lapland

The Heart of Christmas in Lapland
Lapland is synonymous with Christmas magic. In Finnish Lapland, Rovaniemi is recognised globally as the official hometown of Santa Claus, where the Arctic Circle cuts across snowy terrain and Santa’s Village offers year-round festive experiences. Here you can meet Father Christmas himself in an intimate setting, share wishes and take part in traditions that make this region a true winter wonderland.
Swedish Lapland offers a quieter but equally enchanting backdrop, where deep forests and snowy plains provide the stage for personalised winter experiences. Away from busy tourist hubs, you can savour private moments with Santa and enjoy authentic Arctic culture in peaceful surroundings that reveal the region’s timeless charm.

Luxury Lodges and Personalised Winter Itineraries
Off The Map Travel’s private Santa experiences are built around luxury accommodation that brings warmth and comfort to the heart of the Arctic. In Finnish Lapland, stay in exquisite cabins or boutique lodges that are designed to complement the snowy landscape while providing cosy spaces to relax after a day of adventure. Many include private saunas, open fireplaces and panoramic views of the surrounding forest.
In Swedish Lapland, secluded retreats offer tranquillity and refined hospitality. These luxury lodges provide a peaceful base for private experiences, from guided wilderness walks to evening Northern Lights hunts, ensuring your family enjoys the Arctic environment in comfort and style.

Private Santa Meetings and Toy Factory Visits
A defining moment of these experiences is the private meeting with Santa Claus. Designed exclusively for your group, this encounter takes place in magical settings that capture the spirit of Christmas in the Arctic. Children and adults alike can speak with Santa, share their wishes and take home memories that last a lifetime.
Some itineraries include a private visit to a hidden Toy Factory where elves and Santa prepare for the festive season, making this more than a visit but a behind-the-scenes experience steeped in joy and imagination.

Arctic Activities Beyond Santa
While Santa is the highlight, your private Lapland experience also includes a range of winter activities tailored to your interests and pace. Glide through snow-covered trails on a husky sled, guided by experienced mushers, or enjoy a serene reindeer sleigh ride through silent forests where the only sound is the soft crunch of snow underfoot.
Snowmobiling through white wilderness with a private guide brings an exhilarating sense of freedom, while cultural experiences with local Sámi families introduce you to indigenous traditions and stories that have shaped life in the Arctic for centuries.

Tailored for Families and Multi-Generational Travel
These private Santa experiences are designed with families in mind, whether you are travelling with young children, teenagers or in a multi-generational group. Activities can be adapted to suit all ages, ensuring everyone shares in the magic while creating new holiday traditions together. Off the Map Travel was great! Alex helped us plan the most amazing 10 day honeymoon to Iceland. He gave us great recommendations and was so patient with us during the planning process!
The ease of everything stood out to me. All we had to do was be there at the right time. The dog sledding was the highlight for my daughter and sister. We had the best time! For me, Manshausen was the highlight. We were very lucky and the only guests there for the majority of our stay. The staff was amazing and the food was so delicious. We had moose steak and it was the best meal I’ve ever had.
The cabins were comfortable and we were so lucky to have 2 clear nights where we just sat and watched the northern lights. We were able to get some awesome pictures too.
I appreciate all your time and care with planning our trip! I won’t hesitate to use Off the Map travel for our next adventure.
Exceptional service throughout the entire planning and booking process – travel agencies don’t get any better than this. A brilliant, seamless experience matched by the holiday experience itself. Would recommend ‘Off the Map Travel’ to anyone considering booking for a Nordic experience ‘par excellence’.
Fantastic trip to Svalbard which delivered the true Arctic experience we were hoping for. The hotels were excellent and the activities – dog sledding and snowmobile expedition were lead by first class guides.
Top tip! The champagne tasting in the world’s most northerly wine cellar in the exceptional Funken Lodge is not to be missed!
My family and I traveled to Sweden to see The Northern Lights in March of 2023. From the planning process to every detail of the trip, I could not have been more pleased with our experience. Alex was exceptional to work with. His guidance on the time of year, where to stay, activities to do and how to get to and from everything was spot on. I have never used a tour company before but thought a trip of this kind would be easier with some help. I am so glad that I did. The entire week was seamless and completely stress-free, allowing us to truly enjoy Sweden and our time together as a family. I will be recommending Off The Map travel to friends and family and will certainly be using them myself again in the future.
Well-organized trip to Norway and Svalbard with great accommodations and activities. Gwen was communicative and responsive to requests. Highly recommend!
The best travel experience ever on every level you can think of during a Lapland expedition (food, activities, timings, accommodation, transport, service, equipment…). I highly recommend Off The Map Travel for their outstanding level of professionalism and detail oriented mindset!
Arctic Retreat was simply magical. Graham and his team were superb. Their entire focus was on ensuring we had an outstanding experience. The accommodation, setting and food were all excellent. The team, experienced professionals, each brought their own personal touch and local nuance. It was faultless. The dog sledging trip directly from Arctic Retreat was also superb. We would return to Arctic Retreat in a heartbeat.
Amy planned a fantastic trip! Everything was very well-thought out. All transfers went smoothly, accommodations were amazing, great restaurant recommendations and the tours were once-in-a-lifetime, can’t book it yourself off the internet experiences. The guides were all fantastic. Communications were prompt and everything worked exactly the way it was supposed to. What a pleasure! Already working on our next trip.
We really enjoyed our Norwegian adventure despite the -22 days! Unfortunately no real experience of viewing the Lights but we did capture a couple of images on our last night – too much cloud otherwise so lots of snow. We really enjoyed the husky lodge – not at all what we had tentatively imagined. Thanks for your assistance, maybe next time we will see the Lights in all their glory.
We did! Everything was truly wonderful! I think the Holman Husky Lodge was our favourite place. Beautiful accommodations, but best of all, wonderful people! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, excellent food, we really enjoyed our time there. We also greatly enjoyed Bergen! Opus XVI was beautiful and we loved being able to walk to restaurants and bars and take in the sights. All of our drivers were punctual and friendly. The itinerary was full but not overfull.
Thank you so much! It was an epic trip, we are taking home wonderful memories!
We have loved it so much here that we have extended our stay and will come back to Bjornfjell and stay in one of their cabins until Jan 3 then we are staying in the igloo hotel the night of the 3rd. 😊We added a few excursions this week – we did the whale trip on the RIB boat (wow!), toured the igloo hotel (which is why we decided to book the last night!) and did the reindeer sleigh at Sorrisniva. You were so right, the bonfire excursion was incredible!!It has been an absolutely amazing trip!
