This 10 night luxury summer holiday, offers a diverse Swedish adventure from the Arctic wilderness in Swedish Lapland to the coastal capital. The trip begins in Swedish Lapland at the Arctic Retreat, where guests stay in a beautiful log cabin for four nights. Here, you will be fully immersed in nature with activities such as a Sami and reindeer encounter, exploring the powerful Storforsen rapid, and horse riding or hiking with huskies.

An internal flight transports you south to Stockholm for three nights at the historic Hotel Reisen. You will take a private guided tour of the Old Town and the famous Vasa Museum. The final three nights are spent at the coastal Smadalaro Gard Spa Hotel, reached via a relaxing private sailing trip through the archipelago, offering the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the spa and seaside activities.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Swedish Lapland

Your incredible Swedish summer adventure begins today as you arrive at Lulea Airport. A private transfer will be waiting to take you directly to your luxury lodge at Arctic Retreat. You will check in and settle into your traditional log cabin, which offers beautiful views over the river and scenic forest surroundings.

Take some time to unpack and relax into the Arctic lifestyle, where your host will always be present to ensure you have everything you need. The log cabins are perfect for couples looking to escape it all. Enjoy a private dinner in the cosy restaurant with your personal chef on hand. The evening is then yours to spend at leisure, maybe try a sauna or a dip in your private hot tub on the terrace, or relax in the quiet solitude of Swedish Lapland before your active days begin tomorrow.

Day 2

Arctic Hiking or Horse Riding

After a delicious breakfast, you will have the exciting choice between two fantastic outdoor activities. You can choose to go hiking with huskies, an interactive experience where you can meet the friendly dogs, walk through the forest, and learn about their year round life and their amazing adaptation to the Arctic climate.

Alternatively, you may choose a guided horse riding experience, where calm horses will carry you at changing tempos through farmland and forest, allowing you to explore the unique nature and wonderful views from a local Swedish family farm. The afternoon offers time to relax, perhaps unwinding in the hot tub or simply enjoying the surrounding nature. Dinner is included in the evening.

Day 3

Storforsen Rapids - Day Trip

Your guide and driver for the day will pick you up from your accommodation for your Storforsen Day Trip. This is a beautiful drive to the Storforsen Nature Reserve, home to Europe’s largest and most impressive rapids. The rapids run for about five kilometres, and you will have time to take a walk along the wooden walkways and capture some photographs of this powerful sight. Your guide has built in time for a cosy outdoor lunch by one of the fire pits. After spending some time here, your guide will take you back to your accommodation in time for dinner.

Day 4

Sami Culture and Reindeer

Your Arctic immersion continues today with a special Sami and reindeer experience following breakfast. This unforgettable summer encounter allows you to step into the Sámi culture, meet the reindeer, and hear fascinating stories of their traditions and life, both past and present. You will then enjoy a delicious traditional meal around the fire, finishing with coffee and an authentic cloudberry dessert. You will have time to browse their small shop for local, handmade products before you enjoy a wildlife drive through the forest back to Arctic Retreat. The rest of your day is at leisure , followed by your final dinner at the retreat.

Day 5

Flight to Historic Stockholm

You will check out of Arctic Retreat today and take a private transfer to Lulea Airport for your flight south to Stockholm. Upon arrival at ARN, a private transfer will be waiting to take you to Hotel Reisen. This beautiful hotel is set directly on Stockholm’s scenic waterfront, right next to the historic Old Town. The building’s foundation dates back to 1617. You will check into your King Deluxe Seaview room. The rest of the day is at your leisure. In Scandinavian terms, Reisen means ‘the Journey’. We can help with restaurant reservations this evening.

Day 6

Old Town and Vasa Museum Tour

Today you will embark on a fascinating Old Town and famous Vasa Museum tour. Starting in the oldest part of Stockholm, the Old Town, where the city was founded in 1252, your private guide will lead you through the narrow streets to discover the Royal Palace, Stockholm Cathedral, and the colourful main square Stortorget. You will then take a public ferry to the island of Djurgården to visit the Vasa Museum , which houses the giant, best preserved 17th century warship in the world. The rest of the day is then free for you to explore. You will return to your hotel later this afternoon.

Day 7

Stockholm City at Leisure

Today you have a full day at leisure to explore Stockholm at your own pace. This is a perfect opportunity to delve into the parts of the city that most interest you. Should you wish to add another guided experience, you could choose from a range of optional tours, such as a traditional Swedish baking experience, a bike tour of the city, a food or craft beer tour, or even enjoy the city from the water with a city kayaking tour. Your dedicated guide will be on hand to advise and book any additional activities you desire.

Day 8

Private Sailing to Archipelago Spa

Today you will check out of Hotel Reisen and take a private transfer to the dock. Here, you will board a 50 foot sailboat for a scenic private sailing trip through the breathtaking archipelago. An experienced skipper will be with you for guidance; you can choose to learn to set course and navigate, or simply relax and let the skipper handle the boat. The trip includes lunch and soft drinks on board. Your destination is the beautiful Smadalaro Gard Spa Hotel, dinner is provided this evening.

Day 9

Relaxation and Spa Day

Today is a delightful day at your leisure to enjoy the facilities at Smadalaro Gard. The hotel boasts a light, sprawling spa lounge and a tranquil plant lined oasis. Here you can truly forget time and space, with several pools both inside and outside, saunas, and a terrace with sun beds. In addition to the spa, the resort offers an array of activities for you to enjoy, such as playing padel on one of the outdoor courts, a round of golf, or challenging your partner to tennis or kayaking in Hemviken. Dinner is included in the evening.

Day 10

Private Seaside Sauna

Today you have the morning at leisure to enjoy the resort or its surroundings. This afternoon features a special, exclusive experience: private use of the water side sauna. This wood fired sauna is located just below the hotel on the jetty by Hemviken. When you are ready to cool off, all you need to do is jump into Hemviken just outside the door. Drinks and snacks can be ordered from the hotel. Enjoy your final two course dinner at the Brasserie & Bränneri restaurant, where you can choose what you want from the summer’s à la carte menu.

Day 11

Departure

Your wonderful 10 night summer adventure in the Swedish Archipelago comes to a close today. After a final breakfast at Smadalaro Gard, you will check out of the hotel. A private transfer will be arranged to take you comfortably back to Stockholm ARN Airport. We hope you return home with incredible memories of your journey from the Arctic wilderness to the serene beauty of the archipelago, having enjoyed the unique luxury of the Arctic Retreat and the waterside elegance of Smadalaro Gard.
