New for 2015, Off the Map Travel develop a new experience with the Aurora Safari Camp

*NEW Northern Lights holiday for 2015/2016*

Northern Lights travel experts, Off the Map Travel, have this year launched a new opportunity for guests visiting Scandinavia to stay in the Aurora Safari Camp. This purpose built, luxury Arctic adventure camp gives guests the opportunity to experience both luxury and adventure whilst enjoying a Northern Lights holiday.

Comfortably nestled in pristine Arctic wilderness on the banks of the Råne River, the luxury camp is made of five traditional Sami Lavvu rooms (traditional Arctic tepees) that can be set as double, twin or family rooms. The camp also includes a communal lounge for a drink by the fireplace and the chance to enjoy fine dining.

With plenty of log burning stoves in all of the rooms, the Lavvu rooms stay warm and cozy, regardless of the freezing outdoor temperatures. An open fireplace outside also gives guests is a magnificent view over the river and up through the trees to spot Aurora.

Well located for Northern Lights hunting, and with no artificial light to be seen from the camp, make this an ideal choice for those looking for a Northern Lights holiday. Even if Aurora do not perform, the region delivers unsurpassed stargazing opportunities with the Milkyway above the camp.

Jonny Cooper, Director of Off the Map Travel and Northern Lights Travel expert said;

“This is a wonderful mix of luxury and adventure – they have got the balance of both here spot on. Taking the five star ‘African safari camp’ concept and transporting it to the Arctic has really given our visitors to the area something new, and a different base from which to experience the Northern Lights.”

Backed by a forest caped mountain there is plenty of wildlife for neighbors including moose, red fox, reindeer, bears (but don’t worry they are hibernating in the winter), roe deer and plenty of birds. Guests regularly find tracks next to the rooms.

Jonny Cooper of Off the Map Travel continues;

“The other attraction for us and our guests is that the camp has achieved minimum impact to the environment. They really have made every effort from solar electricity to waste and fuel for the fire. Even the snowmobile that takes guests out to the camp has a very low-consuming engine.”

A four night itinerary including one nights at the Aurora Safari Camp in Northern Sweden with Off the Map Travel costs from £1999, excluding flights. This includes one night at the camp, two nights at a traditional lodge and one night at the incredible Tree Hotel along with a variety of exciting activities.
