Opening in December 2026, Octola III is the newest addition to the Octola Private Wilderness collection. Designed to accommodate just six people across three beautifully appointed suites, the lodge is available by private invitation, making it one of the most exclusive places to stay in the Arctic.
Built on the foundations of a former radar station, the architecture takes inspiration from the surrounding fells and Sámi traditions. Expansive windows frame the vast Arctic landscape, while natural materials, warm interiors and carefully considered living spaces create a welcoming contrast to the wilderness outside.
A dedicated private chef and host look after every detail of your stay, with dining experiences tailored to your preferences and days arranged entirely around you. Wellness is equally personal, with a traditional wood burning sauna beside a specially designed ice swimming pond, offering the chance to experience one of the Nordics’ most celebrated rituals.
For those seeking the Northern Lights, Octola III’s elevated position and remote setting provide wonderful opportunities to watch the Aurora dance across the Arctic skies. Return to Octola III for a leisurely afternoon enjoying the traditional wood burning sauna, followed by an invigorating dip in the ice swimming pond. Alternatively, spend time in the private Games Den, complete with billiards, darts and an opportunity to learn the traditional Sámi lasso technique.
As evening approaches, enjoy a private dinner celebrating seasonal Nordic ingredients before watching the skies for the Northern Lights. The elevated location provides an extraordinary setting for Aurora viewing, with wide open horizons stretching across three countries.
Where is Octola III?
Octola III is located within a protected Sámi wilderness area in the remote fells of Finnish Lapland, approximately 500 metres above sea level.
Its remarkable position offers panoramic views across the Arctic landscapes of Finland, Sweden and Norway, with vast open skies and very little artificial light making it an excellent location for Northern Lights viewing during the darker months.
Despite its secluded setting, the retreat is approximately 20 minutes by private transfer from Enontekiö Arctic Airport.
The surrounding private wilderness estate includes more than five kilometres of private roads, allowing you to explore the Arctic landscape away from the crowds.

We did! Everything was truly wonderful! I think the Holman Husky Lodge was our favourite place. Beautiful accommodations, but best of all, wonderful people! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, excellent food, we really enjoyed our time there. We also greatly enjoyed Bergen! Opus XVI was beautiful and we loved being able to walk to restaurants and bars and take in the sights. All of our drivers were punctual and friendly. The itinerary was full but not overfull.

We have loved it so much here that we have extended our stay and will come back to Bjornfjell and stay in one of their cabins until Jan 3 then we are staying in the igloo hotel the night of the 3rd. 😊We added a few excursions this week – we did the whale trip on the RIB boat (wow!), toured the igloo hotel (which is why we decided to book the last night!) and did the reindeer sleigh at Sorrisniva.
