Getting There

Getting to Narvik is easy with daily flights into Oslo which connect to regular flights to Narvik.

If you would prefer not to fly, there is a train that goes all the way to Narvik and offers beautiful scenery all the way.

Narvik and surrounds are a perfect destination for adventures all year. The average temperature in the summer is around 12°C but this can rise to well into the twenties, with the long summer’s days offering a great summer break experience. In the winter a crisp blanket of snow covers the area and average temperatures are around -4.5C but can be a lot colder.

Narvik is located within the Arctic Circle on the islands of Langøya and Hinnøyain. The National Parks of Møysalen and part of Møysalen are located in the south of the region.

Narvik’s northern latitude means that it falls within the Auroral oval which means it often has fantastic Aurora displays and makes for the perfect destination for a Northern Lights Holiday.

Plants and Animals

The plants and animals of Narvik and its surrounding region are typical of northern Norway, with many moose and reindeer wandering the wilderness.

Many sea birds often nest on the cliffs that make up the rugged coastline including sea eagles. It is also possible to see whales with the most common being the sperm whale but there have also been sightings of minke, fin, pilot and humpback whales.
