Floating on Tromso's Fjords
Moored off the coast of Tromso Island, guests can now stay on a Norwegian fjord, with nothing but the night sky, mountains and the water of the fjord lapping against the side of the floating lodge. Built on a ferry from the 1960s, the VOLDA floating lodge was rebuilt into a fresh, modern, luxury accommodation using Scandinavian design to create a special place for guests to relax and hunt for the Northern Lights.
Measuring 340m², the lodge sleeps up to 14 guests in 7 bedrooms and comes with an open plan living room and kitchen area with a 4m long dining table, two open lounging areas and one private lounge in the officer’s cabin. The new floating lodge is perfectly located to use as a base for a wide range of local activities on land, and the water, and on free evenings, makes the perfect spot to sit back and hunt for the northern lights.
