A quiet village escape
In the small village of Mårdsel, close to the Arctic Circle in Råne River Valley you will find an old postoffice that has been converted into a comfortable lodge. Arrive and be welcomed by your personal host who will cook you delicious local cuisine. This hidden gem is near the Arctic Circle and you can travel to this iconic point by snowmobile – stopping half way at a local community centre for lunch. Meet the locals, learn about their lives and immerse yourself in the culture of the destination.
The building has a ground and top floor – which can be taken as a whole or separately, as two fully serviced accommodations. It has 5 double/twin rooms and one children’s room with a bunk bed, a lounge, a bar, 2 bathrooms, serving 3 course dinners freshly prepared by your host and a private sauna-house right on the river.
With very little light pollution and situated in a remote village (with only about 5 locals living here) you will feel like you are the only person for miles around and that you own the wilderness. Its a fantastic area for Winter activities and in winter has a thick layer of snow all around.
